Step One

How to take your measurements

Use a soft measuring tape. Wear fitted clothing or no clothing. Always measure in inches unless specified.

Measurement Points

Bust / Chest

Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it parallel to the floor. Don't pull tight — leave room for one finger underneath.

Tip: Measure while exhaling naturally. Avoid measuring over a padded bra.

Waist

Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist — usually about 1 inch above your navel. Stand naturally, don't suck in.

Tip: Tie a piece of elastic around your waist and let it settle — that's your natural waist.

Hips

Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat — usually 7–9 inches below the natural waist.

Tip: Ask a helper to hold the tape at the back — it's hard to keep level on your own.

Shoulder Width

Measure from the edge of one shoulder (where it meets your arm) straight across the back to the other shoulder edge.

Tip: This is best measured by a helper. Find the shoulder seam of a well-fitting top as a guide.

Height & Length

Stand barefoot against a wall. Measure from the top of your head to the floor. Also measure from your natural waist to the floor — this sets your skirt/gown length.

Tip: Specify the heel height you'll wear — we'll adjust the hem length accordingly.

Sleeve Length

With arm slightly bent, measure from the shoulder point (where a seam would sit) down to your wrist bone. For full-length sleeves, measure to the base of the thumb.

Tip: Bend your elbow at 90° while measuring — this gives the right ease for movement.
